Chinese humanoid robot stuns with 106km nonstop world-record trek: Watch

China has once again made history as a humanoid robot sets a new Guinness World Record for the longest cross-province journey.

The Agibot A2 walked non-stop 106.286-km from Suzhou to Shanghai, without powering off during the trek.

The longest journey walked by a humanoid robot kicked off on November, 10 from Suzhou’s Jinji Lake in east China’s Jiangsu province and finished at Shanghai’s Bund on November, 13.

The Agibot A2 robot becomes the first humanoid to achieve this Guinness World title due to its highly long-standing functional hot-swappable battery system that prevents it from being powered off.

According to Wang Chuang, senior vice-president of Agibot, “Walking from Suzhou to Shanghai is a tough task even for many humans, but the robot achieved it.”

“It proves the maturity of the robot’s hardware, cerebellar balance algorithms and endurance, laying a solid foundation for large-scale commercial deployment,” Wang added.

The robot is equipped with LiDAR, GPS modules, and in-depth sensors, helping A2 to navigate complicated scenarios, including narrow pathways, crowded sidewalks, and changing traffic lights.

The 5.74 feet tall Agibot A2 weighs around 55kg and can easily process audio, text, and visual information based on AI-powered capabilities.
