The election fervour is at its peak in Pakistan, with political parties and independent candidates using various tactics to capture the attention of the public ahead of the polls scheduled for February 8.

The exercise of the right to vote by the people is not just a national obligation but also a national responsibility.

Campaigns for the general elections are underway in every constituency, but NA-260, the largest constituency in the country in terms of area, holds a distinct position, according to Geo News.

The NA-260 constituency is situated in the northwest of Pakistan’s Balochistan province, comprising various areas including Chagai, Nushki, Kharran, and Washuk. To the north of this constituency lies Afghanistan, and to the west, it shares a border with Iran.

In the upcoming elections, candidates from several political parties in Pakistan will test their fate from this constituency, including Abdul Qadir Baloch from the Pakistan Peoples Party, Muhammad Othman Badini from the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl, Sardar Fateh Muhammad Hassani from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Muhammad Hashim Notezai from the Balochistan National Party, and the independent candidate supported by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Ghulam Qadir Mandokhail.

NA-260 has an estimated population of 1,040,000, including 365,595 registered voters. The constituency consists of 202,289 registered male voters and 163,306 female voters.

In the 2018 elections, this constituency was designated as NA-268, from which Mohammad Hashim Notezai of the Balochistan National Party emerged victorious with 32,139 votes, while the independent candidate Sardar Fateh secured the second position with 27,903 votes and is now contesting the elections on a PML-N ticket.
