Celebrity couple welcomed their second child, a boy, into the world on February 15
In a pleasant development for the fans, Indian cricket star Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have welcomed their second child to the world, the celebrity couple announced on Tuesday.
They shared the good news in separate posts on Instagram, saying that their baby boy came into this world on February 15.
Taking to Instagram, the former Indian captain penned a sweet short note, stating that he and his celebrity wife are pleasantly announcing the birth of their second baby, who they named “Akaay”.
“With abundant happiness and our hearts full of love, we are pleased to inform everyone that on February 15, we welcomed our baby boy Akaay & Vamika’s little brother into this world!”
The pair sought prayers and wishes from their fans and requested to “respect” their privacy at this time.
The same note was shared on the athlete’s X, formerly Twitter account.
It may be noted that the couple has been extremely strict about the privacy of Vamika — baby girl born to them in 2017 — and have never revealed her face on the internet.
They also remained tight-lipped about the second pregnancy.
Virat and Anushka tied the knot in 2017 and the latter, who is one of the top-tier actresses in the Bollywood film industry, has priortises her family over her profession as she is rarely seen on the big screen since Vamika’s birth.Â
Reacting to the news, Virat’s fans showered their wishes and prayers on the couple.
A user wrote: “Congratulations to both of you.” He also asked about the meaning of the name “Akaay”.
