Pakistan has refuted the foreign media report regarding Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir’s visit to Washington, saying that all official visits are formally announced by the government.
The rebuttal came a day after Reuters citing sources claimed that Field Marshal Munir is expected to fly to Washington to meet President Donald Trump in the coming weeks for a third meeting in six months that will likely focus on the Gaza force.
At a weekly press briefing on Thursday, Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi denied the Reuters report, saying the news story implied a visit has been planned and agreed.
“I currently do not have a timing for any future visit,” he added.
This is a developing story and is being updated with more details.
