At least three people were fatally shot Saturday including a 13-year-old girl after a man went on a killing spree in two different homes in Viewpoint Lane in Levittown, Pennsylvania, gunning down relatives.
Officials have launched an investigation into the suspect Andre Gordon, who was trying to escape by carjacking but was arrested in New Jersey.
The 26-year-old used an AR-15-style assault rifle to kill people including his teen sister, Falls Township Police Chief Nelson Whitney said.
“He’s in custody. No one else was injured during the arrest,” Trenton, New Jersey, police director Steve Wilson was quoted by CNN Saturday.
Trenton mayor Reed Gusciora said the suspect cooperated with police.
A news release from the office of state Attorney General Matthew Platkin read according to CNN report that the suspect is facing seven charges in New Jersey, including first-degree carjacking, second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and second-degree unlawful possession of an assault firearm, among others.
Gordon drove the stolen car from Trenton and killed his sister Kera and 52-year-old stepmother Karen in their home.
Other three members of the family, including one minor hid from Gordon during the attack. When they hid, Gordon searched for them in the house.
Later, he went to Edgewood Lane and killed 25-year-old Taylor Daniel — the mother of his two children.
Daniel’s mother was also injured during the attack as she was with other four members of the family in the house.
The shootings were”domestic-related”, Falls Township Chairman of the Board of Supervisors Jeff Dence told CNN.
Police have started further investigation and the suspect will remain in custody before being extradited to Pennsylvania.
