Pakistani singers Hamza Malik and Zain Zohaib’s collaboration Alfaaz has crossed 50 million streams on Spotify, while its reported chart performance in India and recognition on Genius have added to the song’s growing success.

Released in July, Alfaaz brought Malik and Zohaib together on a romantic track whose emotive sound has resonated with listeners. Its continued streaming growth has helped the collaboration reach audiences beyond Pakistan.

The song’s reported chart performance has further fuelled its momentum. An Instagram story shared by Zohaib’s official music account reported that Alfaaz had reached No 1 on Spotify’s charts in both India and Pakistan, as well as No 39 on Spotify’s global chart.

The reported rankings mark a notable achievement for a Pakistani collaboration gaining traction in India, one of the region’s largest music markets.

The song’s reach also illustrates how streaming platforms can help music travel across national borders and connect artists with listeners in different markets.

Alfaaz has also gained recognition on Genius.

A screenshot shared by the singers on Instagram showed the track at No 5 on the platform’s Top 10 Songs of the Week chart, alongside songs by international artists including Tate McRae, Olivia Rodrigo, Chappell Roan, ADÉLA and Mariah Deborah.

Beyond streaming platforms, the song has found an audience through social media covers.

One video attracting widespread attention featured Norwegian singer and Quick Style dance member William Gamborg sitting with children from Lahore’s SurTaal Music Academy as they sang a cover of Alfaaz.Shared on Gamborg’s Instagram account, the video amassed 10 million views, offering another indication of the song’s reach beyond its streaming audience.
