After being relieved from political affairs, Mohsin Naqvi has now started paying attention to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
On Tuesday, he invited PSL franchise owners to a lunch in Islamabad. Owners of four teams, Multan Sultans, Islamabad United, Lahore Qalandars, and Quetta Gladiators, were present. Owners of Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings couldn’t attend due to overseas commitments. Salman Naseer, Naila Bhatti, and others also attended on behalf of PCB.
According to attendees, the meeting was quite positive, and team owners were particularly impressed by the Chairman’s vision. They also reiterated their demand for perpetuity rights.
It should be noted that after the 10th edition of PSL next year, the current franchises’ term will be completed, but they can maintain their rights by paying an increased amount according to market value. The chairman told the owners that they will soon have another meeting to discuss this matter in detail.
Franchises also mentioned forming a separate company for HBL PSL, to which Mohsin Naqvi responded that he also want to improve the league’s affairs and will discuss this as well.
Naqvi stated that he has recently joined PCB and is currently evaluating the situation and visible improvements will be seen in some time.
Regarding PSL ticket sales, he said that he doesn’t agree with the impact of crowd not coming to Karachi but he will discuss with the government to ensure fans are accommodated comfortably during security checks.
