The couple shares news on Instagram, adding a baby girl to the family alongside two-year-old Dua
Bollywood couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have welcomed their second child, a baby girl. The couple announced the news on Instagram on Saturday.
The post showed a baby’s foot and carried the caption “Welcome baby girl”. It was signed “Dua, Deepika and Ranveer”, with an evil eye emoji added to ward off negative energy. The baby is a younger sister to Dua, who was born on September 8, 2024.
The couple announced their first daughter’s arrival on Instagram too, a day after being seen arriving at a Mumbai hospital with their families.
Colleagues from the entertainment industry were quick to congratulate the couple in the comments. Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh, Diana Penty, and Bhumi Pednekar were one of the first to congratulate the couple.
The couple had announced their second pregnancy in April this year with a low-key Instagram post. It featured a photograph of Dua holding a positive pregnancy test, with only evil eye emojis in the caption.
Deepika has spoken about how motherhood has changed her.
In an interview with CNBC-TV18, she said it had pushed her out of her comfort zone and made her more emotionally and socially open, adding, “Now I’m playing my best role.”
Deepika and Ranveer began dating on the sets of Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela in 2013 and married on November 14, 2018. They are widely regarded as one of Bollywood’s most popular pairs, both on and off screen.
