Actor and content creator teams up with Hydra and Will Baker for an English-Urdu dance track
Dananeer Mobeen is adding another creative pursuit to her growing portfolio. The actor and social media star has made her singing debut with Touch, an upbeat dance track featuring musician Haider Mustehsan, also known as Hydra, and produced with Will Baker.
Mobeen announced the release on Instagram through a collaborative post with Mustehsan, sharing a snippet from the music video. “TOUCH – OUT NOW ON ALL PLATFORMS,” the pair wrote, with Mobeen adding that she and Baker had put considerable thought into the track.
“I hope you guys feel this in your feet,” she added, hinting at the song’s energetic, dance-friendly sound.
The track blends English and Urdu lyrics, giving it a contemporary pop feel while retaining a distinctly South Asian flavour. For Mobeen, who first found fame online before making her way into acting, the release marks her first formal step into music.
The accompanying music video leans into the song’s carefree mood. Mobeen and Mustehsan are seen dancing alongside a piano, spending time around a house and pool, and driving together in a convertible as they take in scenic views.
Mobeen keeps her look playful and relaxed, wearing a fun long-sleeved black top with jeans and a bandanna tied in her hair.
Mustehsan had also teased the collaboration through a series of artistic videos from the project in the days leading up to its release, leaving followers intrigued by the unexpected pairing.
The unexpected collaboration appears to have caught fans off guard, with many taking to the comments to celebrate the actor’s latest creative turn.
Fellow artists also showed their support, with Shae Gill and Mamya Shajaffer applauding Mobeen in the comments. “You’re so beautiful,” Gill wrote, while Shajaffer added, “So cute.”
Mobeen’s move into music comes as she continues to expand beyond the social media fame that first brought her into the spotlight. Her acting credits include Sinf-e-Aahan and Meem Se Mohabbat, while her recent work has also included the sports film Mera Lyari.
Mera Lyari, which starred Mobeen alongside Ayesha Omar and Trinette Lucas, explored Lyari’s football culture and the experiences of women in sport. Mobeen has also remained active on the drama front, with projects including Hurmat and Soulmates associated with her recent projects.
From viral internet personality to actor and now singer, Mobeen is embracing an increasingly varied creative career. And if the reaction to Touch is anything to go by, fans are more than ready to see what she tries next.
