ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Wednesday shot down eight drones after they entered the country’s airspace from Afghanistan, security sources said.
The sources said the armed forces’ air defence system intercepted all eight drones, foiling the attempted intrusion.
Four were brought down in areas adjacent to the Torkham border, while the other four were shot down in mountainous areas along the border near Kohat.
The incident comes after the security forces targeted Afghan Taliban positions and hideouts in the Kurram sector last night, according to the sources.
