Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide will visit Pakistan on August 13-14, marking the first visit by a Norwegian foreign minister to the country in a decade.
Eide is visiting Pakistan at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, according to the Foreign Office.
During the visit, DPM Dar and Eide will hold delegation-level talks covering the full spectrum of Pakistan-Norway relations.
The two sides will discuss ways to expand bilateral cooperation, particularly in trade and investment, climate change, renewable energy, education and people-to-people contacts.
They will also exchange views on important regional and international developments.
The Foreign Office said the visit builds on sustained high-level engagement between the two countries, including telephone conversations between Dar and Eide in March and April 2026.
Norway’s State Secretary Andreas Motzfeldt Kravik also visited Islamabad in May 2026.
The Foreign Office said Eide’s visit would provide an opportunity to further strengthen the longstanding and cordial relations between Pakistan and Norway and explore new areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.
