Veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik has announced his departure from Karachi Kings. In a heartfelt statement shared on X, Malik expressed gratitude for his time with the franchise and its management.
“It has been a great experience playing for this amazing franchise and teammates,” Malik wrote. “During my two stints with the team, the management and Salman Iqbal have been super accommodating and supportive,” he added.

Malik wished Karachi Kings the best for the future and shared his excitement about participating in the upcoming HBLPSL draft. He looks forward to a new chapter in the tournament’s next season.
HBLPSL draft will take place in Gwadar, Balochistan, on January 11, 2025, marking the first time the event is hosted in the region.
The pick order for the draft has also been finalized. Two-time champions Lahore Qalandars will make the first pick in the platinum category, followed by Karachi Kings.
Quetta Gladiators will have the third pick, with Peshawar Zalmi taking the fourth. Last year’s runners-up, Multan Sultans, and reigning champions, Islamabad United, will make the fifth and sixth picks, respectively.
