‘56% of Pakistanis lost weight in Ramadan’

Over half of Pakistanis claim they have lost weight during Ramadan, the holy month when Muslims fast from dawn till dusk, but nearly 4 in 10 Pakistanis say their weight has not changed, a survey has found.

The News reported that the revelation was made in a Gallup Pakistan survey. More than 1,000 people participated in it from across the country, which was conducted between March 18 and 25.

In the survey, 56% of Pakistanis said that they had lost weight during Ramadan. They said that their weight had decreased positively due to fasting, but 7% complained of weight gain despite fasting.

Over 35% said that there was no difference in their weight while 2% did not give any answer to this question.

According to Gallup Pakistan, people between the ages of 30 and 50 reported the highest weight loss, making the ratio 58%.

Over 53% under the age of 30 while 52% over the age of 50 included in the survey lost weight.
