Sarfaraz Ahmed expressed optimism about Mohammad Amir’s potential impact on Quetta Gladiators in the upcoming ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Speaking to the media in Karachi, Sarfaraz highlighted Amir’s consistent performance over the past two years, emphasizing that wherever he played, his team excelled.
“In the last two years, wherever Amir has played cricket, his team has been performing well,” Sarfaraz said.
“Amir and Sohail Khan are experts in both bowling new and old balls. We are hopeful that Amir will prove to be profitable for Quetta Gladiators,” he added.
Shifting the focus to the newly-elected chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, Sarfaraz commended his previous role as a caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab. He extended congratulations to Naqvi and expressed confidence that he would contribute significantly to the betterment of Pakistan cricket.
“I want to congratulate Mohsin Naqvi on becoming the chairman of PCB. He has done a great job as a caretaker CM in Punjab over the last one and half years. I’m hopeful that he will do great services for Pakistan cricket,” he said.
Furthermore, Sarfaraz praised the Pakistan U19 side despite their narrow loss to Australia in the World Cup semi-final.
“They [U19 players] played fantastically throughout the tournament. Losing the semi-final against Australia because of an inside-edge four is part of the game,” he said.
