The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a sharp decline on Monday as the benchmark KSE-100 Index went down over 2% during early trading hours.
The index had touched a high of 117,601.62, still down by 1,190.04 points (1.00%) from the previous close of 118,791.66. The day’s low was recorded at 115,488.18, reflecting a drop of 3,303.48 points, or 2.78%.
The session opened on a subdued note following Friday’s remarkable performance, where the index hit an intraday high of 120,796.67, gaining as much as 1,858.56 points before shedding 146.45 points, or 0.12%, to settle at 118,791.66, closing in the red.
