There has been very little known about what former first lady Melania Trump says about Donald Trump’s hush money trial behind closed doors as it entered the third day with six jurors named so far.
According to The New York Times, Melania Trump concurred with former president Donald Trump about the unfair trial on the allegations of hush money paid to an adult film star Stormy Daniels in 2016.
The businessman allegedly falsified financial records during his 2016 presidential campaign to silence people who knew about his extramarital sexual encounter with Daniels after marrying Melania.
The 77-year-old Trump had been indicted in March on 34 counts of felonies, marking a history in US politics.
The Times report citing a person close to the former first lady: “In private, she has called the proceedings a disgrace tantamount to election interference.”
The criminal indictment marked the first time in the history of the country that an incumbent or a former president has been criminally charged.
His three other indictments include retaining classified documents illegally after leaving the White House in 2021, instigating supporters to storm Capitol Hill on January 6, 2021, and interfering in Georgia elections.
When the proceedings were about to commence, the presiding judge Juan Merchan stated that Trump’s wife could be a potential witness.
“At the end of the day, she can make or break his candidacy,” Melania’s former press secretary, Stephanie Grisham, told the NYT. “And at the end of the day, she could probably make or break him.”
