Seven-floor exhibition at band’s final live performance site will feature rare artefacts, rooftop experience

London is opening the first official destination for Beatles fans, a venue that will house hundreds of rare memories and artifacts related to the band. The exhibition, titled The Beatles at 3 Savile Row, will launch in 2027, with fans able to register on the band’s website from today, Tuesday.

Consisting of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, The Beatles were the most influential English rock band to emerge from Liverpool in the 1960s. Now, the band’s final live performance venue is being transformed into an immersive exhibition space where visitors will be able to explore never-before-seen material spread across seven floors.

According to the BBC, McCartney told fans: “Tourists come to England and they can go to Abbey Road, but they can’t go inside (and) it snares up the traffic and the drivers get really annoyed,” adding, “So I thought this was a terrific idea.”

McCartney also explained how the venue experience will work. “Well, you go in on the ground floor, and there’s memorabilia and stuff like that. Then you work your way up through the building and (see) various things that happened here and there, until you get to the top, where you go to the roof and pretend to be a Beatle.”

The musician added, according to the BBC, “You want that at the National Trust, you know? You’ve got a souvenir.”

Fans will have the opportunity to relive the iconic rooftop concert where the four members last performed together on a chilly January afternoon in 1969. The building will also feature a recreation of the famous basement studio where the band recorded Let It Be.

According to the BBC, Director Michael Lindsay-Hogg revealed that the performance nearly did not happen, with some members considering cancelling at the last moment. “George didn’t want to do it and Ringo started saying he didn’t really see the point. Then John said, ‘Oh, [expletive] it – let’s go do it.'”

Footage from the set was recently restored for Peter Jackson’s Get Back documentary, featuring performances of songs including Don’t Let Me Down, I’ve Got a Feeling and two versions of Get Back.

After the band split in 1970, The Beatles continued using the building as the headquarters for Apple Corps. Six years later, the property was sold to Abercrombie & Fitch.

In 2025, McCartney revisited the idea for the building after Tom Greene became chief executive of Apple Corps. “He’s a live wire and he’s bringing a lot of energy into looking at what The Beatles mean, and what people want these days from us,” he said.

Sir Ringo Starr also visited the property, saying it felt “like coming back home,” the BBC said.

The exhibition is expected to become one of London’s biggest attractions for music lovers, offering fans a chance to step directly into one of the most important chapters in rock history.
