LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday declared a verdict, allowing the physical remand of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan in May 9 cases, “null and void”.

The high court had reserved the verdict on the petitions challenging the former prime minister’s physical remand.

The PTI filed petitions against the anti-terrorism court’s (ATC) verdict, saying that it did not assess the records properly when granting police Khan’s physical remand.

An ATC in Lahore had approved a 10-day physical remand of the PTI founder in 12 cases related to the May 9 riots. The police had requested for a 30-day remand of the former premier.

The high court also declared the notification of the PTI founder’s appearance on the video link null and void.
