About 12th Fail

The film narrates the true story of Manoj Kumar Sharma, a young man from a financially strained background in Chambal, who aspires to become India’s top-ranking government officer—an IPS Officer. Despite facing corruption and irregularities in his hometown’s education system, Manoj’s commitment to honesty, instilled by his father, sets him on a path of resilience.

Raised in a region where cheating in exams is prevalent, Manoj’s decision to renounce dishonesty leads to his failure in the 12th standard, a crucial moment reflected in the film’s original title. Undeterred, he perseveres, working as a driver to support his family. A chance encounter with an honest police officer inspires him to dream big, and he eventually decides to pursue his goal of becoming an IPS officer.
