Dallas community mourns demise of Abdul Latif Khan Khanzada

DALLAS: The Dallas community mourns the demise of Abdul Latif Khan Khanzada, a respected social activist and eminent journalist of Geo News.

The father of Daily Jang correspondent Raja Zahid Khanzada passed away peacefully after a very short illness, leaving a memory in the hearts of all who knew him.

The funeral prayer of Abdul Latif was performed under the leadership of his grandson, well-known businessman Raja Raheel Akhtar Khanzada. In the funeral prayer, a large number of local community members, including leading leaders of socio-literary and political organisations Dr Hasan Hashmi, Faraz Hashmi, Democratic Party leader Syed Fayyaz Hasan, Imad Salim, President of South Asia Democracy Watch Amir Makhani, Kashmiri leader Raja Muzaffar Kashmiri, Mujeeb Qureshi, Vice President of Pakistan Society Ghalib Malik, Abid Baig, leaders of Pakistan American Association, Dr Javed Ajmal, Iftikhar Ifti, Inamullah Sherwani, President of Pakistan Peoples Party (Dallas) Aamir Memon, AZ Qasmi of show business, singer Faisal Akhtar, literary organization Al-Noor is the spirit of Noor Amarhoi. 

Shah Alam Siddiqui, Rais Ghani, Arshad Qaim Khani, Rehan Qaiser, Shia leader Ali Rizvi, Dr  Kamran Rao, Dr Irfan Shah, Dr Rizwan Shah, Major (retd) Ayaz Syed, Karam Khalil, Prof Sameer Iqbal, Shaukat Muhammad, Attorney Tausif Kamal, Like Ali Khan Qaim Khani, Maqbool Mughal, Naseem Hussain, Ghulam Nabi Kalor, Shaukat Gandivia, Karam Din, and hundreds of others individuals attended namaz-e-janaza.

Abdul Latif Khan was buried in Joshua Cemetery, a Muslim cemetery near Fort Worth, Texas, USA.

Abdul Latif Khan had been living with his son in America for a long time, but a few days ago, doctors diagnosed him with blood cancer leukemia, and the doctors told him that he was nearing the end of his life. The deceased was a lively person, before his death, he performed nawafal on his death bed, after which he slept peacefully for 12 hours and his soul departed from his body during that time. 

In the funeral prayer, the imam of the local mosque said that Allah chose the month of Ramadan and the day of Friday for his demise, which is one of the signs of great happiness. Abdul Khan was born in India and at the time of the establishment of Pakistan in 1947, he was nineteen years old and was an important member of the Pakistan Movement. The deceased also participated in, social and religious activities in Pakistan. He has left behind five sons and four daughters among his family members. 

Abdul Latif Khan Khanzada’s legacy of compassion and dedication will live forever in the hearts of these people. When saying goodbye, we reflect on the words, “Inna lillah wa inna ilayhi raji’un” – “Verily we belong to Allah and to Him we shall return.” May Allah grant him eternal peace and bless his soul with Jannah (Paradise). Ameen

On this occasion, his eldest son Raja Zahid Akhta Khanzada said that in this difficult time, “I am humbly grateful to the members of the community who gave love and stood by his side in this difficult time. The support means the world to our family. Please include my father in many prayers in this holy month of Ramadan so that we can complete this difficult journey. Thank you for your kindness and prayers.”
