Latest update reveals China’s AI firm DeepSeek has doubled its annualized revenue run rate to reach $1 billion, up from under $500 million just months ago.
As reported by Information reported on Tuesday, Chinese artificial intelligence trailblazer has crossed a major commercial milestone. AI startup DeepSeek has raised more than 50 billion yuan ($7.40 billion) at a valuation exceeding $50 billion in its first funding round, using a structure designed to preserve founder control.
The sudden revenue acceleration was largely catalyzed by a strategic adjustment in application programming interface (API) pricing last month.
By hiking model costs by 2.3 to 4.5 times, DeepSeek managed to drastically scale its incoming capital while maintaining a stable customer base, thanks to continued heavy global demand for its cost-effective AI systems and agent-powering architectures.
Despite the financial upswing, Liang emphasized that monetization remains secondary to R&D, with the firm still dedicating over 70% of its compute power toward training advanced next-generation models.
As reported, the rapid financial growth was heavily propelled by recent API price increases which did not trigger customer churn due to sustained global demand.
The report said, the funding required investors to put their capital into a limited partnership managed by DeepSeek CEO Liang Wenfeng rather than into DeepSeek itself.
Alongside its booming commercialization, DeepSeek is preparing to close a major funding round targeting 50 billion yuan ($7.5 billion) ahead of a planned Shanghai listing.
