KARACHI: Star batter Babar Azam has reached the milestone of 6,000 runs in one-day international (ODI) cricket, achieving this feat with his 10th run in today’s innings.
He now shares the record for the fastest player to score 6,000 runs, matching Hashim Amla’s record of completing the runs in 123 innings.
In addition to this achievement, Babar has also become the fastest Asian player to reach 6,000 runs. Previously, India’s Virat Kohli had reached the milestone in 136 innings.
The former skipper is now the 11th Pakistani batter to achieve 6,000 ODI runs.
Other notable Pakistani players who have reached this landmark include Inzamam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Yousuf, Saeed Anwar, Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik, Javed Miandad, Younis Khan, Saleem Malik, Mohammad Hafeez, and Ejaz Ahmed.
His feat came during the Tri-Nation Series final as Pakistan took on New Zealand at Karachi stadium.
