Plans for Alexa Bliss’ long-anticipated return to WWE have been shelved indefinitely, according to reports. Bliss, a former WWE Women’s Champion, was reportedly set to return at a recent episode of ‘Raw’ in San Jose as part of the Wyatt Sicks storyline.
However, WWE Creative was instructed to abandon those plans shortly before the event.
The change does not appear to be due to creative disagreements or health concerns, as Bliss is reportedly fit and ready to return. The decision to halt her return remains unexplained within the company. One insider speculated that the delay could stem from a potential contract issue, although this has not been confirmed.
Bliss has not appeared on WWE programming since the 2023 Royal Rumble, where she competed in a match at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
During her break, she also revealed via Instagram her treatment for skin cancer, garnering tremendous support online.
Bliss had teased a comeback in the weeks leading up to the San Jose event, with reports indicating that WWE had been working on merchandise and promotional materials for her return. However, her absence from the Women’s Royal Rumble match and current creative pitches suggests her comeback has been postponed indefinitely.
Her current contract status remains unclear, though it is assumed she is still under the same deal signed before her hiatus in 2023. WWE could extend the contract if time is added to her agreement during her time away.
The Wyatt Sicks storyline, which was expected to involve Bliss, has since shifted from “Raw” to “SmackDown,” leaving her future role within the company uncertain. WWE has yet to provide an official statement on the situation.
