Looks like Ahmed Ali Akbar’s last offering, Parizaad, is getting a sequel! The popular drama, which garnered rave reviews for its stellar cast and brilliant storyline, is apparently returning for chapter 2, as announced by writer, Hashim Nadeem. The original cast included Nauman Ijaz, Syed Muhammad Ahmed, Urwa Hocane, Saboor Aly, Ushna Shah, Yumna Zaidi, Mashal Khan, Tipu Shah, Kiran Tabeer, Leyla Zuberi, Madiha Rizvi and Malik Hamid Raza.

Taking to Instagram, Nadeem shared a picture of Akbar as Parizaad and wrote, “Chapter 2.” Details regarding the same have been kept under wraps for now. We can’t wait to see what the show will be about.

Beautifully penned by Nadeem, the characters in Parizaad are multi-faceted and rarely stereotyped. From unveiling the escort culture in a high-fashioned rich stata to a queer person in a middle-class household, the serial managed to bring fresh conversations to the table.

Although a major problem that irked viewers was the darkening of Ahmed Ali Akbar’s skin tone for the titular role, the serial has an ever-growing fan base due to its out-of-the-box storyline and characters that gave us a much-needed break from run-of-the-mill family dramas and toxic love triangles.

Parizaad, an unconfident and self-doubting man who is loyal to his core, went through an emotional and financial rollercoaster throughout the show. From a poet to a mechanic to a personal chauffeur to a business tycoon— his acting was brilliantly reflective of his social status and personal struggles with accepting self-love and chasing his dreams.
