Former Pakistan pace maestro, Wasim Akram, shared his insights and advice for the struggling young bowler, Shaheen Afridi to regain his form for the upcoming 2023 World Cup matches.

In a recent interview with a local media channel, Akram acknowledged Afridi’s recent challenges and encouraged him to maintain confidence in his abilities as a wicket-taking bowler.

He emphasized the importance of staying grounded, not attempting anything extraordinary, and highlighted the potential for a standout performance to reignite Afridi’s rhythm and form.

“He has been bowling well. Obviously, his confidence will be a bit low but he is a wicket-taking bowler. Even if he is not taking wickets, he need to just be normal and don’t try to do anything extraordinary. I’m sure one good spell and wickets with the new ball will get him back into rhythm,” he said.

The Men in Green will lock horns against Australia on October 20th, set to take place at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
