Veteran actor Behroze Sabzwari has been trending on social media after a remark about his marriage sparked controversy during a televised appearance.
During an event this week, the actor was invited on stage when the host asked about the absence of his wife, noting that she usually accompanies him. In response, Sabzwari joked, “No, the other one is with me today,” which drew laughter from the audience.
However, a clip of the remark surfaced online and quickly drew attention, with many criticising the comment as inappropriate.
Several social media users described the remark as disrespectful toward Sabzwari’s spouse, arguing that public figures should be more mindful of their words, even in jest.
The incident also revived discussion regarding earlier remarks by Sabzwari criticising men who enter second marriages while their first wife is still alive. Some users pointed out perceived inconsistency in the actor’s comments, referencing his son, Shahroz, who has also faced public attention regarding his own marriage.
The veteran actor, who is currently working on a romantic drama Ishq Mein Tere Sadqay, has not issued a response to the backlash.
