Couple revisit wedding memories, share family stories and celebrate with loved ones on-air
Nida Yasir and Yasir Nawaz celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary on live TV on Thursday, where they appeared alongside family members to revisit old wedding photographs and share memories from their journey together.
Marking the occasion on-air, the couple recreated a wedding-style setup with flowers, vows and loved ones in attendance, inviting viewers across Pakistan to join in their celebration.
The segment began with the couple going through their wedding album, including pictures from their mayoun, mehndi and reception ceremonies. The photos also featured Yasir with his mother, alongside family members and relatives greeting the couple during the celebrations.
While reflecting on the images, the family shared nostalgic stories from the past. Yasir’s brother, Danish, recalled the challenges of preparing for the wedding, noting the difficulty of coordinating guests during the summer heat. “We were asked to arrive at 4pm to avoid the heat, but when we reached, nobody from their side was ready,” he said.
Nida, meanwhile, recalled the long wait in heels. “That day was so tiring and hot, and I was wearing heels. I said, ‘This is my revenge,’ my feet were completely ruined,” she shared.
The host also reminisced about a humorous incident involving her lost diamond ring, which led to a frantic search. “I woke up in the morning and realised my ring was gone. I thought he would say I lost his gift,” she said. “Even the face wash tube was almost empty, and I checked inside it.”
Throughout the segment, the couple also took part in interactive games testing how well they know each other, answering questions about habits, personalities and preferences.
They spoke about Nida’s temperament, Yasir’s passion for filmmaking, and Nida’s habit of missing calls, ultimately agreeing that Yasir is the more entertaining personality in the family.
Another highlight of the show was Nida’s recent Eid break with her son, during which she spoke about the importance of taking time out as a couple.
“I have tried to take time out for ourselves over the years, even if I had to push Yasir for it,” she said. “Whenever our anniversary or birthdays come around, we go somewhere for four or five days, even if it’s just a staycation. It helps us reconnect, and I believe all couples should do this.”
She added that Yasir gifted her time and space this year, calling it a meaningful gesture. “For the first time, I went on a solo vacation. I also visited my children abroad, and this time I took Balaj along, and we really enjoyed it,” she shared.
The couple also received a surprise call from Nida’s father, who shared emotional wishes and reflected on the joy of seeing his daughter happy after more than two decades of marriage. “Fathers are happiest when they see their daughters, especially after so many years of marriage, happy in their personal lives,” he said.
The segment concluded with the couple cutting a cake and receiving flowers and congratulations from family members. They also shared a joint Instagram post to mark the occasion. The two have been married since 2002 and have three children.
