WhatsApp is improving user experience and simplifying the sharing of status updates with the help of a new significant update that is available to some beta testers.
Beta testers can get their hands on the new update by downloading the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.3.22 update via the Google Play Store, according to WABetaInfo.
The new update for Meta’s popular instant-messaging app includes two new shortcuts in the gallery sheet that will appear when users tap the floating button in the ‘Updates’ tab.
This addition enables users to quickly create text-based updates or share voice messages, broadening the content types available beyond traditional photos and videos.
Furthermore, WhatsApp has introduced a dedicated shortcut for recording voice messages directly from the status update creation screen.
This adjustment separates the voice and text status updates functionalities, making voice updates more prominent and easily accessible without having to switch tabs.
This change is particularly beneficial for users who may not have been aware that they could already share voice messages as status updates, encouraging more users to experiment with voice status updates and discover new ways to communicate with their contacts.
It is worth mentioning that some users may have a different interface configuration as the feature will be rolled out to a limited number of users.
The new feature will be rolled out to even more people over the coming weeks.
