As part of a class-action lawsuit filed in 2019 in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, Apple agreed to pay up $35 million.

As a result, longtime Apple users who used the iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus may be eligible for up to $349 in compensation, CNet reported.

The case originated from claims that several of the previously stated iPhones had audio problems, particularly with the audio IC chip, which regulates the phone’s audio output.

Although Apple has denied these issues, it has nevertheless agreed to the payout, which users can claim if the given conditions are met.

Here are the conditions that qualify you for the Apple settlement

People who owned an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus between September 16, 2016 and January 3, 2023, are eligible; however, Apple must have registered your complaints about the audio issue or other issues covered by the settlement.

The covered issues include:

  • Sound-Speaker
  • Sound-Microphone
  • Sound-Receiver
  • Unexpected Restart or Shutdown
  • Power On-Device Unresponsive

Users who paid for a repair or replacement pertaining to the above issues also qualify.

People who have made complaints will automatically get notified by email or a message about the compensation money.

Anyone who thinks they qualify and has not received an email may contact the Apple information desk.
